2018 Southport 34
The Southport 34 is a semi-displacement cruiser that is capable of serious coastal cruising and comfortable inshore holidays aboard. This new model is an updated version of the well-respected and popular Honeymoon / Seaway 33. The Southport 34 “Southseas” offers very economical performance from her 160 HP Yanmar shaft drive diesel. She has a comfortable and very economical cruise speed up to 10 knots and flight speed of 13-14 knots if required. Since launch she has clocked about 150 Hrs and averaged around 5 L per hour.
“Southseas” was completed and launched in 2018 as the demonstrator boat for this new model. Although she shares the same proven underwater shape as the Honeymoon/Seaway 33 she has been completely remodelled from the waterline up. The interior has 2 separate sleeping areas as well as a large and comfortable saloon. The heads have a separate shower stall and electric toilet with holding tank. The large cockpit has an extended hardtop, for that all-important shade and comfortable entertaining. The flybridge will accommodate 4 to 5 people and has a central helm for excellent vision when manoeuvring. The large Bimini top gives sun protection and has 3 side clears.
“Southseas” was custom built to a very high standard by well-known boat builder Laurie Toms and has a large list of standard and optional features. The Southport 34 fits into the smaller diesel shaft drive market somewhere between the trawler style displacement
vessels like the Clipper and semi displacement vessels like Fairways.
